Fusing the lyrical and the polemical, up-beat humour and deadly seriousness – Lemn’s performances are notorious for their powerful energy and dynamism.
He is author of five books of poetry spanning twenty five years and reads on stages throughout the world. He is an honorary Doctor of Letters, associate artist at at Europe’s largest arts complex, the Southbank Centre, and was the first poet commissioned to write for the 2012 Olympics. His play Something Dark is winner of a RIMA award and has been performed throughout the world. In 2010 he was awarded an MBE for his services to literature.
His broadcasting work is extensive - including regular appearances on BBC Radio’s 1, 4 and 5.
